About me
For over 10 years I have supported children, young people, adults, families and communities in various settings. I have volunteered and worked within church communities, youth groups, schools, private and charitable counselling settings.
I currently work for a charity part time providing therapeutic interventions in schools and sixth forms for children, young people, families and school employees. I also work privately part time, providing therapeutic support to individuals of all ages. I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow their ethical framework.
Individual work (Adults)
I have an integrative humanistic approach when working with adults that combines a range of therapeutic modalities. I believe every individual is unique and one approach may not suit all, therefore I work with clients according to their personality and needs, ensuring I can provide the best support I can. I offer a friendly, non-judgemental, safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and any issues you are dealing with.
Individual work (CYP)
I take a similar approach when working with children or young people where I believe each individual is different and will require a tailored approach to meet their needs. This can be similar to adult work where a child/young person wishes to talk and explore their feelings however it can also involve other creative methods such as play, arts and crafts. When working with children I meet with parents/caregivers prior to the therapy to understand their goals as well as important background information, as the therapy continues I am happy to review the work with the parents/caregivers and the frequency of this can be discussed in the initial meeting.
Clients I work with
I work with clients for the time they need, whether that is short term or long term.
How I deliver therapy
I provide therapy online via Teams, WhatsApp and telephone as well as in person.
Therapy approaches
Humanistic, Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, CBT.
