About me

I am passionate about mental wellbeing and flourishing and love exploring what it means to be a human being, our individual uniqueness, and how we can best navigate a sometimes challenging existence, in order that we can feel more fulfilled and happier for ourselves and others.

My natural demeanour is calm, easy-going and non-threatening, which means I have a solid track record of building relationships quickly with clients, in order that they may feel comfortable in expressing and exploring the difficulties present in their life.

Though I am a qualified counsellor, I attempt to approach things with a ‘beginner’s mind’, so as not to fall into a trap of being an expert, and I am often studying and growing my practice.

I have a personal interest and enthusiasm for mindfulness and meditation, which helps to keep me grounded and very often seems to bring the ‘answer’ when life feels troubling or overwhelming.

Individual work

I believe connection is a very important part of our existence and building connection plays a foundational part of my counselling work, as does respecting client autonomy and helping clients to see that, within their lives and relationships, they have power and self-determination.

Though we may explore the past, or even the future, it is the present that is important, because this is our life — right now — and we can determine to move forward armed with a deeper understanding of ourselves and how we relate to others and the world. The work can involve an important reconnection with our often neglected, emotional selves. My work is to help facilitate you along your own path.

Clients I work with

Adults 18+. This can be on a short or long-term basis.

How I deliver therapy

In-Person and Online.

Therapy approaches

Pluralistic Counselling.

I value the relationship within our work and believe it is imperative to positive therapeutic outcomes. Because we are all different and one set approach to counselling might not suit every person, I aim to work with a pluralistic approach — this essentially means being flexible to a clients’ needs and, potentially, drawing on several counselling modalities, however always in collaboration with you.

Modalities I draw on include Person-Centred, CBT, Psychodynamic and Mindfulness.

What I can help with

Sometimes a client may come to counselling knowing exactly what it is they would like to work on. However, life can be complex and you may not always be certain why you are struggling — other than you know you are struggling. Our work together can explore what it is you need and often it can transform and diversify into areas that you may not have been fully aware were presenting issues.
