About me
My name is Tarn and I am an Integrative Counsellor working with adults and young people from aged 14 years. I work in private practice, and I am now part of the HTC team of counsellors.
My integrative approach allows me to draw upon a range of modalities, which can facilitate an individualistic counselling experience. In my view, this approach enables me to play an active role within the therapeutic relationship, providing flexibility to meet each clients’ needs. Counselling is not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ and through client-led counselling, you, as a client, will always be in control of sessions and at the heart of the counselling process. Counselling can be viewed as a journey. A journey that develops self-awareness, empowerment and autonomy with the ultimate aim of embracing change and the positive growth that it can offer.
Experience
I have three years post-qualifying experience and have my own practice working with adults and young people with a variety of presenting issues.
I am currently working towards a post-qualifying diploma in eating disorders. An interest in this evolved from discovering a lack of specialism in an area that acutely affects young people and their carers.
I have previously worked as a bereavement counsellor in a Worcestershire Hospice and this role has provided a valuable foundation for my ongoing practice.
Prior to counselling, I have experience in the financial and corporate sector and I have worked as a volunteer in charitable organisations, providing support for disadvantaged families.
Individual work
I offer 1:1 counselling for adults and young people.
Sessions are client-led, and you will be met with empathy and a non-judgmental attitude. I provide a confidential and safe space in which we can talk and work through whatever is troubling you. My approach is gentle and although non-directive, options and possible solutions will be explored.
Clients I work with
