About me
My name is Bethan and I am a person-centred counsellor working with young people from age 8, as well as adults. I work in a secondary as a counsellor school a for two days as week and also have a small private practice.
My aim is to create a warm, calm and accepting online space for clients to explore and make sense of their feelings and experiences, helping them find their own path and solutions to the issues that matter to them.
I work with many issues, including anxiety, bereavement, self-esteem, self-harm, trauma and stress.

Individual work
As a person-centred counsellor, I trust the client to be the expert on themselves. My role is not to tell clients what to do – although my experience means I can often offer suggestions and ideas which clients are free to consider or disregard. My role is more to create a time and a space where clients are able to explore their problems and experiences. This can help increase self-awareness, understanding and enable clients to develop coping techniques and solutions that work for them.
Every human is unique and my approach to counselling is to explore ways of working and solutions that suit each client’s individual needs and preferences.
Clients I work with
Individual adults from age 16+ for online sessions. Long term or short-term.
Therapy approaches
Person-centred counselling is based on building a trusting therapeutic relationship between the client and counsellor. It is based on the principles of empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence (genuineness). I trust you to be the expert in you and as such, my role is to help you find your own solutions rather give direct advice.
