About me
Hi, my name is Jennie. I am a qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist and registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).
I began working at HT counselling at the beginning of 2021. I was drawn to the inclusive ethos the company have with offering clients a wide variety of counsellors with affordable options and no waiting list. This aligned with my beliefs that everybody can benefit from counselling and therefore has an opportunity to access it when needed.
Counselling Individuals (Adults)
Working primarily with a Person-centred approach means each 50 minute sessions will be a confidential, non-judgemental, collaborative exploration of any difficulties that have led you to seek counselling.
I will offer a space for you, to begin to understand any thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that have been impacting you physically and mentally or that may have been affecting areas of your life such as relationships and work.
In our sessions you will receive warmth, authenticity, empathy, and support giving you what I believe are the foundations to build a trusting therapeutic relationship, which often can be all a client needs for possible growth and change.
At times, I can introduce other methods, techniques and counselling approaches depending on what may be useful to you and your needs. Psychoeducation for example is a valuable tool which I use often in my work as it can allow you to make sense of what emotions are being experienced, the causes and possible ways of managing them, especially in relation to anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Ultimately our aim in working together is to facilitate you in navigating and exploring difficult experiences and emotions, in the hope of enabling a more fulfilled, healthier, authentic you.
