About me
I began my counselling journey four years ago when I decided to leave the corporate world behind to study as a counsellor. This difficult decision was influenced by analysing the things from my working life that I had found most fulfilling and that came naturally to me. I concluded that my strength of working with and helping people would be the focus of my career change.
I have gained experience through volunteering as a mentor and support worker and have worked for the last 18 months as a Mental Health Practitioner for Mind.
As part of my studies, I have completed a 100 hour placement with clients both face to face and on-line. I am a member of the BACP and follow their ethical framework in additional to the policies and procedures of HTC.
Counselling Individuals (Adults)
Each client I work with is met with an open mind and given a safe space to express themselves in a non-judgemental environment. Having received counselling myself as part of my studies, I understand how daunting it can be to take the first steps into this environment.
Although the service I deliver is professional and ethical I also believe that the relationship between a counsellor and client is absolutely key to working together. My aim is to work with you to explore the challenges that face you and work towards finding your own solutions. I am patient and prepared to work at a pace that is comfortable to you.
