About me
Hi, I’m Alex, a Person-Centred Experiential counsellor working with adults facing a wide range of life’s challenges, including anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, anger, addiction, and childhood trauma.
My passion for counselling comes from my own life-changing experience with therapy, and I now offer that same safe, non-judgmental space to others. I’ll support you in exploring your emotions, gaining deeper self-understanding, and building confidence to face life’s difficulties.
While I take the work seriously, I also believe in the power of humour and creating a space where you can be fully yourself. Therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time.
Alongside my private practice, I work full-time in an addiction rehab centre, where I support individuals on their journeys to recovery—an experience that continually strengthens my belief in the resilience of the human spirit.
If you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed, I’d love to have an open, pressure-free chat about how we might work together.
Individual work
As a Person-Centred Experiential Psychotherapist, my approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and deep respect for your unique experiences. Our work together is not about giving advice or telling you what to do—it’s about creating a space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions freely, at your own pace.
I will support you in:
- Exploring your experiences of the world and your current situation to uncover underlying, sometimes unpleasant emotions
- Gaining awareness of these emotions and patterns, helping you develop a clearer understanding of yourself
- Processing and working through these experiences so you can move forward with greater clarity and confidence
While my core approach is person-centred, I also incorporate elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy to help develop practical coping techniques. These approaches can offer:
- Skills to manage distress and regulate emotions
- Techniques to challenge unhelpful thought patterns
- A focus on solutions and strengths, helping you take meaningful steps forward
This approach is not about quick fixes but about meaningful, lasting change. By deepening your self-awareness and emotional understanding, you’ll be better equipped to navigate life’s challenges—not just now, but in the future.

How I deliver therapy
Person-centred counselling is a talking therapy that focuses on creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. My goal is not to give advice or direct the session, but instead support you to connect with your own inner resources and make sense of your experiences. It’s a collaborative process that trusts in your ability to find your own answers and path forward.
